Community Assessment Therapy Services (CATS) delivers The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism in collaboration with our partners Lighthouse Learning and Consultancy.
Oliver’s Training is the government’s preferred and recommended training package to support health and social care staff to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to provide safe, compassionate and person-centred care for people with a learning disability and autistic people.
A legal requirement for CQC-registered providers
Training in learning disability and autism is mandatory for CQC-registered service providers. Providers must ensure staff receive learning disability and autism training that is appropriate to their role and delivered in a way that meets the standards set out in The Oliver McGowan Code of Practice.
Tier 2 training (what we offer)
We offer Tier 2 delivery (Part 2) — the face-to-face interactive element of Oliver’s Training.
Tier 2 is designed for staff who need a deeper level of learning because of their role and level of contact with people with a learning disability and autistic people.
Essential pre-requirement: complete the eLearning first
All attendees must complete the official eLearning (Part 1) before attending the Tier 2 face-to-face session.
Please complete the eLearning here:
