CATS can provide a highly specialist neurodevelopmental diagnostic service for children with a visual impairment. Access to a high-quality assessment can be challenging for children with a visual impairment for a number of reasons, including overlap of eye condition symptomology, assessment tools which are designed for a sighted population and lack of specialist expertise in the assessing team.
At CATS we have a specialist team who are qualified to carry out diagnostic assessments for children who also have a visual impairment. Our team includes:
- A Paediatrician with a special interest in visual impairment
- A Qualified Habilitation Specialist with over 20 years’ of experience working with children with visual impairment
- A Paediatric Occupational Therapist with many years of experience working with children with visual impairments.
- Clinical Psychologists
- Speech and Language Therapists
To make a referral for your child please complete our neurodevelopmental assessment referral form and state that you would like to access the specialist visual impairment service.
