Cognitive Assessment

CATS will be closed from 23rd December and reopen on 6th January

Cognitive assessments aim to gain an understanding of the unique profile of thinking and reasoning skills that we have as adults. This can help us with developing awareness and understanding of personal strengths as well as areas of thinking and reasoning that may be more challenging.

Our psychologists each have over twenty years of experience in undertaking cognitive assessments and in being able to interpret and make sense of how those results relate to our day to day lives.

We use the gold standard assessment of adult cognition, Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale – Fourth Edition (WAIS-IV UK). It provides a measure of general intellectual functioning (Full Scale IQ) as well as four index scales. The index scales are Verbal Comprehension (VCI), Perceptual Reasoning (PRI), Working Memory (WMI) and Processing Speed (PSI).
