Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS)

CATS will be closed from 23rd December and reopen on 6th January

Online versions of the Social Responsiveness Scale- 2nd Edition (SRS-2) will be sent to you for completion prior to the appointment. There will be one for you to complete and one for someone who knows you well (e.g. partner, sibling, parent).

The SRS 2 looks at different areas of social communication. This is not a diagnostic scale but it is helpful as part of the assessment as it looks at the following areas.

Social Awareness: The ability to pick up on social cues.

Social Cognition: The ability to interpret social cues once they have been picked up. Social Communication: Including expressive social communication.

Social Motivation: The extent to which an individual is generally motivated to engage in social-interpersonal behaviour. This can also be sensitive to social anxiety, inhibition and difficulties with empathy.

Restricted and Repetitive Behaviours: This includes stereotypical behaviours or highly restricted interests.
